Israel doing whatever they want to with impunity and american backing ?
always been like this and probably always will be

They sunk a british warship that was listening in on their activities in the 6 day war. We then helped them hush it up Rolling Eyes

An american intelligence ship was also sunk for similar reasons but the americans didnt make a secret of it. However they did recall rescue ships sent to pick up survivors. President Johnson ordered the recall with the comment that he did not care if every man drowned and the ship sank, but that he would not embarrass his allies.

The warship listening in heard that the israelis were slaughtering captured soldiers in warehouses.

They are probably doing similar things in Lebananon that they dont want the outside world to know about.

The USS Liberty, it was under attack for over 2 hours by Isreali air force and gunboats. This was after flybys as close as 200 metres over 8 hours before, it had clearly been identified as a US ship.

After calling for assistance from the 6th fleet and fighters being launched President Johnsons word's were 'I want that goddamn ship going to the bottom, no help, recall the wings'. The fighters were recalled.

The soldiers who were killed contacted the UN 10 times !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I am normaly pro Israel, but what its doing now is beyond belief.

Could you imagine bombing Dublin in the 90s because of a handful of IRA on the border.

Its mental.

At this rate we're going to have a hell of a test as to just how far Israel can go before the US/UK condemn their actions. Evidently they've not done anything wrong so far. Rolling Eyes

I had backed Israel's actions against Hammas and then hearing that Syrian Special Forces were helping Hammas attack Israel, kinda strengthend my backing for them.

I was (and still am) disscusted at Hammas using the Lebonese people as human sheilds by placing there weponary and HQ in populated areas, collatrial damage was allways going to occur. But they were just launching rockets wily nilly into Northen Israel and knowingly targeting civilians.

But after this attack on the UN Israel have to brought up in the courts for basically tearing up the Geneva convention when carrying out the attacks in Lebanon (as do Hammas). I also beleive that Sryia and Iran have a big part to play in this and have just as much blood on their hands as Israel.

Sun Tzu; The Art of War(6 BC) wrote:

Humanity, or charity, is, as Sun Tzu states repeatedly, a fatal flaw in a general. A true general, he says, does not love the people, because it makes him weak. For example, if the local population must be pillaged or uprooted in order to achieve certain war objectives, the general will have no qualms doing just that. A true general takes very good care of his army, but he does not love it. He takes care of his army, because he needs a good fighting tool. But when the time comes to sacrifice his men's lives for the sake of a well-executed obfuscation, he will sacrifice them without as much as batting an eye and he will send them to their deaths in a useless charge toward an objective he does not even care to take. A true general is not without human feelings, but he does not let such feelings rule him. This may not be in line with your idea of virtue. But if it is not, then what are you doing playing this game? Diplomacy is not a nice game, and if you have not noticed this until now, you should. If you are racked with guilt after taking an ally's home center, when you know that there is no way to succeed without doing so, you can be sure that your guilt is not the quality of a successful general. Play dispassionately and single-mindedly toward your objectives, or you risk not achieving them.

You quote as if that justify's it, which of course it does not.

But then again what should we expect, Mr Kelman. Laughing

Answers your question spot on, his virtue is different from yours.

What question? And what does a differing virtue have to do with it? the point is it should be stamped on and should have been long before 6BC.

Besides virtue having nothing to do with it can I also ask why you decided to steal a piece from an essay on the game of 'Diplomacy' and accredit it to Tzu when he in fact said no such thing?

Interesting that you put your own spin on someone else's words then claim it as intelligence when you've shown a complete lack of it in every post so far.

You've been shot down in every thread yet you continue to try and worm your way out by claiming things that don't exist or are outright wrong (Mr Kelman, lol that's going to keep me amused for weeks). Laughing
