|

hiya,
i'm a total newbie to bikes and have been pootling around on my new NSR125-RR for 2 weeks now but i need to ask a question, possibly a stupid one!
i was looking round my bike and there is a small panel low on the right hand side of the fairing (circled in pic). i took it off and had a look and there is a small reservoir with a min/max guide on it. this reservoir is empty.
i squeezed the clutch and a cable near the reservoir moved, should i have gear oil in here? i do feel a bit of a clunk when changing into first from a standstill if i don't put enuff revs on. changing when riding seems ok but coz i'm new & this is 1st bike, so can't compare it to anything ridden before!
any advice greatly recieved!

The clunk you get is quite normal and usually shows that your clutch is in good condition. As McJam said, make sure the bike is completely level when you check the level indicator. ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. If it is the gearbox oil level that you are seeing remember two things. Firstly the level should only be checked when the bike is cold and oil has settled. Secondly, on the NSR the oil should be checked with the bike upright, not on the sidestand. It does make a difference to the oil level, and thus it is easy to overfill the bike.

Not saying you are stupid, but dont make the mistake some people make. It is called gear oil, so dont put two stroke oil in as some do. Lol
