I'd like to know why the newspaper that printed the cartoons that offended Muslims refused to print similar images of Jesus in case they caused offence. According to the artist concerned, neither image was intended to offend, although one was printed and one not on the basis of 'uproar'.

Seems the free speech argument falls flat on it's face. 'Someone' is deciding what gets into the media and it's not consistent.

Anyone care to comment?

And if they had printed the cartoons do you really think believers of Jesus would have marched the streets calling for death to all none believers?
Would you see embassy's burnt down?
would you have 5 people dead and a 14 year old boy killed because of "mob rule"?
If you think this is what would have happened then i stand by your point but in all honesty from reading between the lines of your post this is just a way of trying to say that the newspaper is racist towards Muslims, maybe it is maybe it isnt,
i,m more interested in the mobs that are calling for 9/11 and 7/7 and causing the death of a 14 year old boy .

And as said by others it is only a small mob of the odd 100,000 or so .

i find islam a bit of a joke. like any other religion it preaches peace and good will, life after death etc etc. but thats only if you do what they want, if you dont want to be muslim, or dont believe or what ever then its death pain and torture...... totally hypocritical......
